1. Keeping numbers in the forefront of a real estate transaction. It's all about people, not numbers. There's nothing wrong with tracking your business, but if you put numbers ahead of people you will fail. 2. Putting too much emphasis on commission. Bigger houses bring bigger commissions but service to your customer is more important. Treat everyone with the same dignity whether they are buying a big or a small house. 3. Relying to heavily on one source of leads. Vary your options, work all avenues. Meet people, call people, do mail outs, get involved in the community. 4. Be self motivated. You have no boss other than yourself. If it's going to be, it's up to you. 5. Stay on track. Follow through to closing. Dot every I and cross every T. These are people's lives you are working it. Make a happy customer and you will be a happy real estate agent. And, one day the happy customers will refer other buyers to you and your list of happy customers will grow and grow! |
